  Incredible interesting place to visit. Somehow they have found the right balance to describe the tragedy and destruction of war, embody the solemn memory of the human loss of life and yet present an utterly interesting exhibition filled with an incredible array of authentic war relics, dioramas, theatre shows, etc. If you don't have much time, take a tour, available every hour, otherwise get lost wondering around the building for a few hours. You won't get bored and you will want to return. Hint - head to the cafe inside past the majority of the exhibitions, Not to the cafe/restaurant outside in a separate building. Better prices and selection of casual foods.

  By far the best museum in Australia. An absolute must see in Canberra. A true credit to the wonderful staff and volunteers that work there. Great cafe. Half a day at The AWM is okay but a full day or two or more could easily be spent. What a place! A true National Treasure.

  The guided tours, are worth doing! I been a several times to this amazing museum and place of memories of remembrance several times. This time I did a tour and got to learn so much more. A great day out!

  Had not been since being a kid. Thought we would pop in for a visit, a few hours before we moved on to another sight. However the museum had us! We were there all day and could have been there longer. Museum was interactive, educational and the displays were fantastic. Certainly made you question how war continues in this world. Free entry. Last post ceremonies held at 5pm... very moving!
